Trump says he and Putin agreed Russia will ship diesel to US and world markets

1 min read

US President Donald Trump announced that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reached an agreement under which Russia will supply millions of tons of diesel fuel to the United States and global markets.

Following the announcement, the US Treasury Department issued a general license authorizing transactions involving Russian-origin diesel, removing a key sanctions barrier that had previously blocked such trade.

The deal marks a significant shift in US energy policy toward Russia amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
