Trump Claims 'Significant Progress' on Permanent US Army Base in Poland

US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that significant progress has been achieved toward creating a permanent US Army base in Poland, crediting the decisive leadership of his friend, Polish President Karol Nawrocki. Trump added that if the agreement is finalized, the location of the base will be announced very soon.

A Historic Step for the Alliance

This will be a historic step for our great American-Polish alliance, Trump wrote. Poland defense minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz submitted an official proposal to the Pentagon chief in June for a new permanent US military base on Polish territory. In July, media reports indicated that an additional 5,000 American troops were expected to deploy to Poland within three months.
