UK Government Forms Flood Taskforce After Severe Weather Season

The UK government announced the formation of a dedicated flood taskforce in response to a severe weather season that brought widespread flooding to numerous regions of England and Wales.

The taskforce will coordinate responses between local authorities, the Environment Agency, and emergency services. It will also develop long-term strategies for flood risk management and climate adaptation.

Climate experts welcomed the move but said more resources are needed for infrastructure improvements.
