Ukraine Air Alarm App Now Tracks Movement of Enemy Rockets and Drones

1 min read

Ukraine's widely used Air Alarm mobile application has received a major update that adds real-time tracking of enemy drones and rockets on a live map. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the feature, describing it as a significant advancement in helping civilians make timely decisions during air raids.

How It Works

The new map inside the Air Alarm app shows the approximate route of incoming drones and missiles as they travel toward Ukrainian territory. The information is gathered and updated in real time, giving residents an indication of which areas are under direct threat at any given moment.

The feature was developed jointly by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Defence. Officials note that while the routes shown are approximate — enemy projectiles can change course — the data still provides meaningful context for shelter decisions and evacuation planning.

Broad Reach

Air Alarm is one of Ukraine's most widely installed apps, used by millions of people across the country. The integration of live trajectory data represents a further militarisation of civilian digital infrastructure in service of public safety.
