Ukraine and Norway Work on Three Defense Projects, Incl. Anti-Shahed Systems
Ukraine and Norway are working on three defense projects, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an online briefing with media, as reported by European Pravda.
He said the first results in protection against Shahed drones are expected in 1.5–2 months. One of the projects is being carried out jointly with the Norwegian company Kongsberg, and the second concerns the Frøya system. “We are grateful for such consistent work by our Norwegian partners to strengthen this Frøya project, and we believe in this success,” Zelensky said.
The third project concerns air defense and satellite communications, and the details are not being disclosed for now. Zelensky added that the sides also discussed a package of energy support for Ukraine.
During his visit to Oslo, Zelensky met the speaker of Norway’s Storting, Masud Gharahkhani, and the leaders of all political parties in the country. Norway recently announced an additional 750 million Norwegian kroner (about $78.5 million) to support the functioning of the Ukrainian state during the full-scale war.
