Ukraine Border Guards: Belarus Relays Guided Drone Attacks on Western Ukraine

📅 Sep 14, 2026⏱ 1 min read💬 0 comments

Ukraine's State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko stated on September 14 that Belarus has not stopped supporting the Russian terrorist state, including by facilitating guided drone strikes on western Ukraine.

“We see that Belarus does not stop supporting the terrorist country. Air assets were being fed with signals through repeaters on the territory of that country,” Demchenko said.

The disclosure reveals that guided drones targeting western Ukraine, which is far from the front lines, rely on signal amplification infrastructure located inside Belarus. This effectively implicates Minsk in direct support for strikes on Ukrainian civilian and military infrastructure.

Western Ukraine, including the areas near the Polish border, had previously been considered relatively safe from precision drone strikes due to the distance from Russian-controlled territory. The use of Belarusian repeaters changes that calculus.

Belarus's role in the war

Belarus under President Alexander Lukashenko has been a key enabler of Russia's war against Ukraine since 2022, allowing Russian forces to use its territory as a launchpad for the initial invasion. The country continues to provide logistical and intelligence support to Russia, though it has stopped short of committing its own troops.
