Ukraine and Canada Sign 100-Year Partnership Declaration in Calgary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney signed a 100-year partnership declaration during Zelensky's three-day visit to Canada, committing both countries to an elevated comprehensive strategic partnership.

The declaration condemned Russia's war against Ukraine and paid tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people and its defenders. Both leaders stressed the importance of Ukraine's continued reforms on the path to full EU and NATO membership.

In the defense sphere, the two countries agreed to deepen cooperation in intelligence, cybersecurity, counter-drone systems, electronic warfare, and combating hybrid threats. Canada pledged to continue working with partners to establish politically and legally binding security guarantees to prevent future Russian aggression.

On the economic front, both nations agreed to expand trade and investment under a modernized free trade agreement and to mobilize capital for Ukraine's reconstruction. Cooperation will also deepen in energy security, critical minerals, AI, cybersecurity, space, biotechnology, and digital governance.
