Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a package of 350 million Canadian dollars (approximately 253 million US dollars) for the purchase of interceptor missiles to bolster Ukraine's air defenses, at a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Calgary.

The interceptors will be delivered through the US Jump Start mechanism. This package will help protect the people of Ukraine, its infrastructure and its airspace, Carney stated.

Beyond missiles, Canada plans to scale up drone production to millions of units over the next two years, committing to transfer one third of the output to Ukraine's Armed Forces.

Canada and Ukraine also agreed to establish a long-term defense industrial partnership combining Ukraine's battlefield experience with Canadian software and AI for drone manufacturing and counter-drone technologies.
