Ukraine Drones Strike Novorossiysk Fuel Terminal, Fire Breaks Out

Ukrainian attack drones struck a fuel oil terminal in the Russian port city of Novorossiysk overnight, sparking a fire at the facility. The attack targeted a mazut (heavy fuel oil) storage depot at the Black Sea port, which serves as a major Russian oil export hub.

The city mayor acknowledged a fire had broken out at the terminal but claimed it was caused by reasons unrelated to a drone strike — a standard Russian official response to avoid acknowledging successful Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.

Local residents reported hearing characteristic drone engine sounds and noted increased Russian air defense activity around midnight, consistent with an attack. Videos circulating on social media showed flames and smoke rising from the terminal area.

Novorossiysk has been targeted by Ukrainian drones multiple times as part of a broader campaign to disrupt Russian fuel exports and pressure the Russian economy.
