Ukraine's General Staff Reports Strikes on Russian Drone Launch Sites

Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces confirmed on September 8 that Ukrainian forces carried out precision strikes on Russian drone launch sites, targeting positions used to attack Ukrainian territory.

According to the report, Ukrainian defenders successfully neutralized several launch positions that had been used by Russian forces to deploy Shahed-type kamikaze drones against civilian infrastructure and populated areas.

The strikes were part of Ukraine's broader counter-drone strategy aimed at reducing the frequency and effectiveness of Russian aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and other major population centers.

Russian drone attacks have intensified in recent weeks, with Ukrainian air defense units working around the clock to intercept incoming threats. The targeting of launch sites represents an effort to neutralize threats before they reach Ukrainian airspace.

Ukrainian military analysts noted that disrupting drone operations at the source is more effective than interception alone, as it forces Russian forces to relocate launch infrastructure and reduces the volume of attacks.
