Ukraine Hits Radar in Russia's Bryansk Oblast and Ammo Depots in Donetsk
Ukrainian Defense Forces hit a radar station in Russia's Bryansk Oblast, as well as depots, positions and troop concentrations in occupied Ukrainian territory, on Oct. 18 and overnight into Oct. 19, according to the General Staff.
"A radar, ammunition depots and enemy manpower have been hit. On Oct. 18 and overnight into Oct. 19 units of the Defense Forces struck a number of important enemy facilities. A radar station was hit in the area of Trubchevsk, Bryansk Oblast of the Russian Federation,"
the General Staff said.
Why radar strikes matter
The General Staff explained that strikes on Russian radars create gaps in the enemy radar field and weaken its air defense. This helps Ukraine's forces use drones both near the front and against military facilities deep inside Russia.
Other targets
In Kharkiv Oblast, near Lyman Pershyi, Ukrainian troops hit an artillery firing position and a Russian drone crew position. In Donetsk Oblast, ammunition depots were hit near Hrintal and Ternove, as well as a depot of materiel near Pelahiivka.
Defense Forces also hit Russian troop concentrations near Svobodne and Volodymyrivka in Donetsk Oblast and Naberezhne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. See also World.
