Ukraine-Poland relations improving after diplomatic breakthrough
Ukraine and Poland are reporting improved bilateral relations following recent diplomatic exchanges, with both governments expressing a commitment to deepening cooperation on security, economic and historical issues.
Poland has been one of Ukraine's most consistent supporters since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, providing significant military and humanitarian assistance and hosting millions of Ukrainian refugees. However, bilateral relations have at times been complicated by historical disputes, particularly regarding the Volyn tragedy during World War II.
Strategic partnership strengthened
The two countries share a long border and have deep strategic interests in maintaining European security. Poland, as a NATO member and one of the largest EU states bordering Ukraine, plays a crucial role in the flow of military supplies to Kyiv. Officials on both sides expressed confidence that the diplomatic developments would further solidify the partnership at a critical moment for Ukraine's defense.
