
Ukrainian prosecutors have opened a criminal case over a mobilization-related incident in Lviv that took place on August 27, 2026. The case involves members of a notification group from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCC&SS), police officers, and civilians.
Video footage circulated online showing a physical confrontation during mobilization activities in Lviv. A man in a police uniform was seen holding a service weapon during the incident. Ukraine's Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets referred the case to the Prosecutor General's Office after reviewing the footage.
The specialized defense prosecutor's office for the Western Region registered the criminal case under Article 365 Part 2 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (excess of authority by an official). The State Bureau of Investigations (DBR) is conducting the pre-trial investigation.
Police confirmed they had already conducted an internal inquiry and imposed disciplinary measures on the officer involved. The driver of the OGP also linked to the case has been dismissed.
