Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced growing interest from the Middle East in Ukraine's military capabilities, with Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman submitting formal requests for defense systems and the transfer of combat experience.

In a national address delivered on March 30, Zelenskyy highlighted the expanding diplomatic and defense ties between Kyiv and the Arab world. The President described recent pacts with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar as "historic agreements," noting that active work is now underway to forge similar partnerships with Jordan and Kuwait.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov is currently touring the region to advance these political negotiations, having provided a progress report to the President earlier in the day.

Exporting Combat Expertise

Zelenskyy emphasized that this expanding cooperation goes beyond international prestige. According to the Head of State, the growing demand from Bahrain and Oman represents a strategic opportunity for Kyiv.

"And for Ukraine, this is not just a matter of prestige and respect for our people. This is a very specific and practical matter—we export our defense system, the skills of our warriors, the knowledge our state possesses," Zelenskyy stated. "And from these states—from our partners—we count on corresponding security cooperation."

Broadening Strategic Horizons

Beyond the export of military knowledge, the President revealed that the ongoing negotiations encompass several critical sectors. The latest discussions have yielded agreements on strengthening air defense capabilities, establishing joint defense production ventures, and deepening cooperation in the energy sector.
