Ukraine Reportedly Strikes Su-34 Parking at Russian Airfield in Voronezh Region

1 min read

Monitoring Telegram channels reported a missile strike on the Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia's Voronezh region overnight, with footage appearing to show a large fire. The airfield is reportedly home to Su-34 strike aircraft, a workhorse of Russia's air campaign against Ukraine.

No official confirmation of damage has been released by either Russian or Ukrainian authorities. Ukraine rarely officially claims strikes on targets inside Russian territory, though monitoring communities and social media often fill the gap with footage and geolocation analysis.

If confirmed, a strike on Su-34 aircraft parking would represent a significant blow to Russia's tactical aviation capacity. The Su-34 has been heavily used to deliver glide bombs against Ukrainian cities and military positions throughout the war.
