Ukraine Reports 1,590 Russian Losses in 24 Hours, Total Exceeds 1.52 Million
Ukraine's Armed Forces reported on September 25, 2026 that Ukrainian defense forces had neutralized 1,590 Russian military personnel in the preceding 24 hours, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, bringing the cumulative total of enemy casualties since Russia launched its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022 to approximately 1,525,570 individuals.
The daily battlefield update reflects the grinding attrition warfare that has defined the conflict over more than four years of fighting. Beyond personnel losses, the General Staff reported significant destruction of Russian equipment across multiple categories.
In armored vehicles, Ukraine claimed the destruction of two additional tanks, bringing the total to 12,369, and 13 more infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, for a cumulative total of 25,415 units.
Artillery systems continued to take heavy losses, with 35 additional units destroyed for a running total of 50,275 systems. Multiple rocket launch systems recorded three new losses, bringing that figure to 2,157. Ground-based robotic systems — increasingly deployed by Russia — saw nine more destroyed, totaling 2,736 units eliminated since the war began.
Drone warfare remained the most dynamic front, with Ukraine claiming the destruction of 1,223 Russian tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles in a single day, pushing the total past 532,575. Seven cruise missiles were also downed, for a total of 5,118 since February 2022.
Vehicle losses were among the day's highest counts, with 370 motor vehicles and fuel tankers destroyed, bringing the cumulative total to 153,152. One additional specialized vehicle was also eliminated, for a total of 4,741.
Ukraine reports its battlefield tallies daily through the General Staff. Russia does not publish comparable figures, and independent verification of these numbers remains impossible given restricted access to the front lines. The figures are widely cited by Western analysts as consistent with satellite imagery and other open-source intelligence assessments of the conflict's overall trajectory.
