Ukraine Strikes Three Russian Oil Refineries in Coordinated Attacks

Ukraine's General Staff announced on September 13, 2026 that its forces struck two major Russian oil refineries overnight, while also confirming additional damage from a strike two days earlier. The attacks are part of Ukraine's sustained campaign to degrade Russia's fuel production capacity that supplies its military.

Slavyansky Refinery in Krasnodar Region

Ukrainian forces struck the Slavyansky refinery in Slavyansk-na-Kubani in Russia's Krasnodar region. A fire broke out on the facility's grounds following the impact. The same night, the GUR (Main Intelligence Directorate) also reported hitting the nearby Slavyansk-EKO plant, destroying its key oil processing unit and tank farm.

Taneco Refinery in Tatarstan

The Taneco complex in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, was also struck and one of its storage tanks caught fire. Taneco is among Russia's five largest refineries with capacity exceeding 16 million tonnes of crude oil annually, making it a key supplier of diesel and jet fuel to the Russian military.

Saratov Refinery: September 11 Damage Confirmed

After analyzing additional data, the General Staff confirmed that the September 11 strike damaged the primary crude processing unit ELZU-AVT-6 and a section of the main pipeline at the Saratov refinery — a plant not previously listed among confirmed targets.

Ukraine has intensified its strikes on Russian energy infrastructure throughout 2026 to reduce the fuel supplies available for Russia's military operations in Ukraine.
