Ukraine's PGO Opens Internal Probe Into Kravchenko's Unauthorized Foreign Trip

1 min read

Ukraine's Office of the Prosecutor General (OGP) has launched an internal investigation into how former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko organized his unauthorized foreign trip, OGP spokesperson Maryana Hayovska told Ukrainska Pravda on September 25, 2026.

According to Hayovska, Acting Prosecutor General Anton Kovalsky ordered the service investigation on September 22 to examine the circumstances under which Kravchenko's foreign business trip was organized and carried out.

Background

Kravchenko was dismissed as Prosecutor General shortly before this investigation was announced, amid controversy over an unauthorized trip to Poland. The dismissal prompted President Zelensky to state that no meetings regarding a successor candidate had yet been held. Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada must approve any new Prosecutor General nominee proposed by the president.
