Warsaw knife attack at adult school injures three, two minors among victims
A 21-year-old woman attacked three people with a knife at an adult education school complex on Minska Street in Warsaw's Praga district on Saturday, October 10. Two underage girls and an older woman were wounded in the attack near the complex's secretariat. Police Commissioner Jacek Wisniewski told a press conference that officers arrived at the scene in just four minutes after the call was received at approximately 12:30.
Attacker and circumstances
The attacker was quickly apprehended by police. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred outside the secretariat of the adult education complex. Both wounded minors were taken to hospital for treatment along with the older woman.
Part of wave of knife attacks in Polish schools
The Warsaw attack is part of a series of knife incidents affecting Polish schools. Deutsche Welle reported on October 10 that Poland has been experiencing a wave of knife attacks reaching school environments, with authorities and the public increasingly concerned about copycat incidents. Poland had previously been considered a relatively safe country with limited exposure to such school violence.
