Zelensky: Hegseth's sign-off on Patriot missiles pending for a month
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine has been waiting almost a month for Pete Hegseth's signature on missiles for Patriot and NASAMS air-defense systems and instructed officials to discuss it with the American side once more.
“In particular, for almost a month we have been waiting for Mr Hegseth's signature on missiles for Patriots and NASAMS. I instructed to talk with the American side again. The conversation with other countries continues too,” Zelensky said.
Briefing on supplies and energy
The president said he held a videoconference on weapons deliveries from partners and the recovery of the energy sector after Russian strikes. The defense minister, the commander-in-chief and the foreign minister reported on deliveries of interceptor missiles for Ukraine's air defense, primarily for Patriot.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is working with the US, European countries and other partners that hold stocks of PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles. Participants also discussed preparations for the November meeting in the Ramstein format. The president stressed the need to speed up implementation of decisions that have been waiting for a while: “Every support package is a chance to protect people's lives.” More in politics.
