Zelensky: Trump Is Pressuring Putin to Start Peace Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that US President Donald Trump is putting direct pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to begin peace negotiations over the war in Ukraine.

Speaking on September 7, Zelensky said signals received through Trump's envoys indicate that Washington is working to push Russia toward dialogue. Trump's position is firm: Moscow must come to the table.

"Trump is pressuring Putin. We feel it through the communication channels that exist," Zelensky said, without disclosing specific details of the diplomatic exchanges.

The Ukrainian president added that Kyiv is open to a just peace but will not accept any ceasefire that would freeze the conflict on Russia's terms or legitimize its territorial gains.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine's allies remain united and that pressure on Russia is intensifying across multiple fronts - diplomatic, economic, and military.
