Zelenskyy: General Winter May Now Work for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared at the UN General Assembly that Russia's traditional cold-weather military advantage — historically called 'General Winter' — may now reverse and work against Moscow.

Zelenskyy stated that if Russia continues targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Kyiv will respond in kind, making the winter a strategic liability for Russia. Ukraine has developed capabilities to strike Russian heating and power systems.

The warning comes amid ongoing Russian missile campaigns against Ukrainian power plants ahead of the heating season. Ukraine's military has indicated it will prioritize counter-energy operations this winter.
