Zelenskyy Releases North Bridge Strike Video, Announces Merz Agreements
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy published footage of the morning drone strike on Kyiv's North Bridge and revealed alarming statistics about Russian drone warfare, while announcing agreements reached during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's visit to Kyiv on October 4.
North Bridge Struck Again
Zelenskyy confirmed that on the morning of October 4, Russian forces again attacked the North Bridge in Kyiv with a drone — the second consecutive day of strikes on the bridge spanning the Dnipro River. He also noted that the same morning, Russian forces struck a medical supplies warehouse in Sumy and a telecom company in Dnipro. In total, one person was killed and six were wounded in the morning attacks.
1,900 Drones in One Week
Zelenskyy revealed that over the past week, Russia deployed more than 1,900 attack drones against Ukraine, of which over 800 were reactive drones — a faster, harder-to-intercept variant. The figure underscores the scale of Russia's aerial campaign against Ukrainian civilian and infrastructure targets.
Agreements with Merz
Zelenskyy announced that agreements with German Chancellor Merz would be made public in the coming days. The Chancellor's visit — the first to Kyiv since Merz took office — brought a delegation of ten defense and energy company executives, signaling expanded German industrial engagement in Ukraine's defense.
