Ex-Prosecutor Flees Ukraine Amid NABU Probe

Ukraine's anti-corruption drama took an abrupt turn before dawn on Tuesday, when former Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko crossed into Poland at the Shehyni checkpoint at 2:30 a.m. — barely three hours after prosecutors handed a suspicion notice to Semen Kryvonos, head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, and only ninety minutes after Kravchenko himself waved off his state security detail. The timing has fueled speculation in Kyiv about what, exactly, he was trying to outrun. The same night brought no relief on the battlefield. Russian forces sent reactive drones into Kyiv, setting a warehouse ablaze in the Sviatoshyn district; firefighters were on scene within minutes and no casualties have been reported. Ukraine's General Staff, meanwhile, said its forces had killed or wounded 1,530 Russian troops in the previous twenty-four hours alone, pushing Moscow's cumulative losses since February 2022 past 1.5 million. Further from the front, the Trump administration confirmed it is shifting $52 million in foreign military financing away from Slovakia, North Macedonia, Tunisia and Iraq toward Panama, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia, citing the fight against drug-trafficking networks and a bid to blunt China's growing footprint in Latin America.
