Russia Strikes Odessa, Kyiv, Dnipro Overnight
Russia unleashed another wave of overnight strikes across Ukraine, and the morning's most jarring message came from Odessa region, where a Shahed drone slammed into a Tavria V supermarket, wounding three people and tearing through the building. President Zelensky tied the attack directly to talk of easing sanctions on Moscow, suggesting it was timed to undercut any softening of pressure on Russia. The damage stretched far beyond one storefront. In Kyiv's Pechersk district, a downed drone set a car ablaze and injured six people, blowing out windows in a dozen apartment blocks and damaging twenty vehicles. Hours earlier, at dawn, Russian drones and guided bombs hit the Dnipro and Pavlohrad districts of Dnipropetrovsk region, killing two people in Novooleksandrivka and setting several houses on fire in Pavlohrad. Further north, industrial facilities in Poltava and Myrhorod districts took drone hits too, though authorities there reported no casualties. Against that backdrop of destruction, Kyiv's General Staff put a number on the cost to Russia, reporting 1,880 more Russian soldiers killed or wounded over the past day alone, pushing Moscow's estimated losses since the invasion began past 1.55 million. Far from the front, North Korea test-fired two types of submarine-launched strategic cruise missiles off its east coast, offering no technical details on either weapon.
