Kherson hit twice as Russia presses on all fronts
Russia struck Kherson twice on Saturday morning, killing an ambulance driver and wounding 40 civilians, among them a one-month-old baby, an 11-year-old girl and two medics. Airstrikes, artillery and drones hit across the region, making it the deadliest episode of the day. Elsewhere the pressure did not ease. Over the day Russia launched 157 attack drones and six S-8000 missiles at Ukraine, and air defenses downed 140 drones and all the ballistic missiles. Even so, a ballistic missile hit Kharkiv's Slobidsky district, and a guided bomb and a kamikaze drone killed two men in Sumy. On the ground the General Staff counted 215 clashes, with Pokrovsk, Huliapole and Kostiantynivka bearing the brunt. The energy grid took hits again: shelling in the Chernihiv region left about 19,000 consumers without power, and a repeat attack on Kremenets district cut electricity in part of Ternopil region. Meanwhile, Ukraine's Air Alarm app now shows the approximate routes of drones and missiles in real time. Beyond Ukraine, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala called his ODS party's Senate election result a disaster, and German officials warned that Russia's hybrid attacks are a long-term strategy.
