Ukrainian Drones Reportedly Hit Ammunition Depot Near Khrustalnyi

1 min read

Ukraine's Defence Forces reportedly struck a Russian ammunition depot with drones overnight on 27 October near the temporarily occupied city of Khrustalnyi in Luhansk region. The report comes from the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ and has not been officially confirmed.

According to preliminary information, the strike-drone attack near Khrustalnyi lasted several hours. A strong fire broke out at the military site, followed by powerful secondary detonations of ammunition.

Why the town matters

Khrustalnyi, formerly Krasnyi Luch, has been under Russian occupation since 2014. It lies about 65 kilometres south-west of Luhansk and serves as an important rear and logistics hub for the Russian force grouping.

The occupation administration of the region and Russia's defence ministry have not commented on the situation so far. Ukraine's military command and the General Staff have also not released official statements on the operation. See more war coverage in World.
