1 min read

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight on 26 October with 140 drones and four missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. Air defence downed 112 drones and three Kh-59/69 missiles. Strikes were recorded at 15 locations, and falling debris from downed targets hit four more.

What was launched

The Russians fired one Kh-31P anti-radar missile and three Kh-59/69 guided air missiles from occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. They also launched 140 drones — Shaheds, Gerbera decoys and Parodiya imitation drones — including 70 jet-powered Shaheds. The drones flew from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo and Millerovo in Russia and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

As of 08:00, according to the Air Force, air defence had downed or suppressed three Kh-59/69 guided air missiles and 112 enemy drones, including 56 jet-powered Shaheds, Gerberas and other types.

Who repelled the attack

Ukrainian pilots, anti-aircraft gunners, electronic-warfare units, unmanned-systems units and mobile fire groups repelled the attack. The Air Force noted that the assault was still under way, with several Russian drones remaining in the sky.
