Overnight on March 29, Russian forces launched a targeted drone assault on a commercial woodworking enterprise located in Novhorod-Siverskyi, within Ukraine's Chernihiv region. According to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration (OVA), the attack involved at least five "Geran" strike drones.

Civilian Infrastructure Damaged

The strikes ignited a fire at the impact site, causing substantial damage to the plant's operational facilities. The blast wave and debris also affected surrounding civilian infrastructure. Local authorities reported that nearby residential buildings and a local kindergarten sustained damage.

Officials from the Chernihiv OVA strongly condemned the attack, emphasizing that there were absolutely no military targets in the vicinity of the strike.

Broader Overnight Escalation

This localized strike was part of a massive nationwide aerial bombardment. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that during the night of March 29, Russian forces deployed a "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile alongside an unprecedented wave of 442 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which included approximately 300 "Shahed" type drones.
