Russian Drone Strike on Zaporizhzhia Injures 3, Destroys House
Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia on October 14, killing three people and destroying a two-story private residence. A second private home in the area was also damaged in the strike.
State Emergency Services (DSNS) firefighters were dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire that broke out as a result of the attack. Emergency personnel also provided psychological support to seven individuals affected by the incident.
The DSNS issued an official statement confirming the details of the attack and the emergency response. Medical teams treated the three injured individuals, who were transported to local hospitals for further care.
Zaporizhzhia, located in southeastern Ukraine, has been a frequent target of Russian strikes throughout the conflict. The city sits near the front lines and hosts critical civilian infrastructure, making it particularly vulnerable to ongoing Russian bombardment.
The attack is part of a broader pattern of Russian drone and missile strikes targeting Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly condemned these attacks as deliberate targeting of civilian populations, which constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law.
