Sandu: Russian Geran Drone Fell Near Moldovan Homes and Power Site

1 min read

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said on Friday that a Russian Geran-type strike drone violated the country's airspace and fell near residential buildings and an energy facility. She posted about it on X, as reported by European Pravda.

Sandu stressed that the war "waged by Russia continues to put Moldovans at risk". "We condemn this latest dangerous act. In response, we have declared an employee of the Russian embassy persona non grata," she added.

Earlier drone incidents

Earlier on October 23 a drone was found in a Moldovan village 100 meters from a residential house; there were no casualties, as we reported in Drone Found 100 Meters From Home in Moldovan Village. Moldovan police had previously found the wreckage of a drone that fell and exploded on October 16 in a field between the villages of Codreni-Noi and Scaieni in the Donduseni district.
