Serco Worker Charged Over Asylum Seeker Data Leak

A 62-year-old employee of the outsourcing company Serco has been charged with misconduct in public office after allegedly sharing the addresses of asylum seekers in Thetford, Norfolk.

The individual is accused of leaking sensitive personal information that could have placed vulnerable people at risk. The case has raised concerns about data protection practices in government-contracted services.

The defendant will appear before magistrates to answer the charges. Serco, which manages several government accommodation contracts, said it takes such allegations seriously.
