Ukraine Negotiators Head to US on Friday for Talks with Washington

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on October 8, 2026 that Ukrainian negotiators would travel to the United States on October 9–10 for talks with the American side. He made the announcement while speaking to reporters in Pryluky alongside UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband.

The visit comes as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the peace talks as diplomatically stalled. Zelensky called Rubio's framing misleading, saying both sides are in active contact and that calling talks a dead end while they continue is contradictory.
