Ukraine Strikes Russian Drone Warehouse, Control Centers in Donetsk Region

1 min read

Ukrainian defense forces carried out precision strikes on Russian drone infrastructure in the Donetsk region on the night of September 22-23, targeting command posts and storage facilities, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Targets struck

Ukrainian forces hit drone control points near Novosilky Persha and Dachne in Donetsk region. Additionally, a drone storage facility belonging to the Rubikon unit — involved in coordinating Russian UAV operations — was destroyed near Vovnakha.

Operational significance

Strikes on drone depots and control nodes are central to Ukraine's counter-strategy against Russian aerial assaults. By disrupting command infrastructure, Ukrainian forces aim to degrade the coordination of drone swarms repeatedly targeting Ukrainian cities and energy systems.

Context

The strikes came hours before Russia launched another wave of drone attacks on Ukrainian cities on September 23, killing two people in Kyiv and wounding 22 others. Ukraine has maintained an active posture of striking Russian rear-area facilities to reduce the enemy's capacity for sustained offensive operations.
