US Open Sets Grand Slam Record with $108 Million Prize Fund

The United States Tennis Association has announced that the 2026 US Open will distribute a record total prize fund of $108 million, marking a 20 percent increase on the previous year and setting a new benchmark for prize money in Grand Slam tennis.

A New High-Water Mark for Tennis Pay

The $108 million figure is the largest single prize pool in the history of any Grand Slam tournament. Both the men's and women's singles champions will receive equal prize money, a commitment the US Open has maintained for decades and that distinguishes it as a model for gender equity in professional sport.

Prize money across the professional tennis circuit has risen substantially in recent years, driven by broadcast deals, sponsorship revenues and growing global audiences. The US Open traditionally leads Grand Slam tournaments in prize money and reinforces that position with this year's announcement.

Benefits Extend Down the Draw

Players lower in the draw will also benefit from the increased fund. Early-round losers and qualifying competitors will see improved earnings at Flushing Meadows. The tournament runs across two weeks at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, concluding with the finals in early September.
