USA Invites Putin to G20 Summit in Miami in December

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit in Miami this December, expressing optimism about his attendance.

Diplomatic Implications

A potential Putin visit to the US would be his first and would raise legal questions given international arrest warrants related to alleged war crimes in Ukraine. The invitation reflects the Trump administration's approach of maintaining engagement with Moscow even as the war continues.
