Zelensky asked Trump to sanction Russia-China Starlink rival

1 min read

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked US President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russian and Chinese companies developing the Rassvet satellite network, a potential competitor to Starlink.

About the satellite network

According to Zelensky, the Rassvet network could become operational by the end of this year and could provide Russia with access to secure communications and navigation capabilities.

Ukraine's position

The Ukrainian side is concerned that the new network could enhance Russian battlefield capabilities. Sanctions are intended to prevent the system from being put into service.
