Zelensky: Ukraine Ready for Tripartite US-Ukraine-Russia Meeting by End of October
Ukraine is prepared to participate in a technical-level tripartite meeting with Russia and the United States proposed for before the end of October, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Kyiv.
"I cannot share all the details. Yesterday, for example, I spoke with the US negotiating team. The American side is currently in contact with Ukraine, with Russia, and is proposing that, before the end of October, we hold some kind of meeting at the technical level in a tripartite format," Zelensky said.
He confirmed that on October 3, Ukraine indicated readiness to support such a meeting. "We are open to the UAE or another country proposed by the American side. I know they will propose this to the Russian side as well, or already have — I'm not sure of the order," the president added.
Earlier, media reported that US, Ukrainian and Russian representatives could meet in October in Abu Dhabi to discuss the possibility of a partial ceasefire, including mutual suspension of strikes on energy infrastructure. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said reaching an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine would be challenging but Washington would try.
