Russia-Linked Cl0p Hackers Breach Data of 50 Major Corporations

The Russia-linked hacker group Cl0p has claimed responsibility for stealing data from approximately 50 large companies, including energy giant Shell, industrial conglomerate General Electric, financial services firm Fiserv, and electronics manufacturer Philips. The group typically exploits vulnerabilities in widely used software to conduct mass attacks simultaneously against multiple targets.

The affected companies have responded cautiously, acknowledging security incidents in some cases but denying that client data was compromised. Cybersecurity analysts note that Cl0p's approach of targeting software supply chains allows the group to breach dozens of organizations in a single campaign without targeting each victim individually.

Security experts warn that the full scope of the breach may not yet be known, as companies are still investigating the extent of the intrusion. Cl0p has previously been linked to large-scale data theft campaigns exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities in enterprise file-transfer platforms.
