Russia Kills Kyiv's Summer: Drone Destroys Kvartal 95 Studio Warehouse

In a drone attack on Kyiv overnight on September 16, Russian reactive unmanned aerial vehicles struck warehouse buildings storing props and stage equipment belonging to Kvartal 95, the entertainment studio behind some of Ukraine’s most popular television shows. The State Emergency Service (SES) and Kvartal 95 confirmed the destruction.

The Studio’s Statement

“As a result of another attack by Russian drones, the warehouse where our studio’s props were stored was destroyed. Together with it we lost a large number of stage sets, costumes, and items that carry the memory of many productions,” Kvartal 95 said in a statement.

Kvartal 95 is well known as the production company of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was a founding member before entering politics. The company produces popular TV programmes and live entertainment events.

Drone attacks on Kyiv have continued throughout the war, regularly targeting the city’s infrastructure, warehouses, and residential areas despite Ukrainian air defenses.
