Ukraine Defense Minister: Interceptor Drones Hit 100%, Hundreds of Anti-UAV Gun Turrets Deployed

Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara said Ukraine has achieved successful results using interceptor drones against jet UAVs. In one combat engagement, five “Bars” interceptors destroyed five aerial targets — a 100% hit rate. He noted this experience is being studied and scaled up, with additional specialists and units involved. Hundreds of heavy-calibre gun turrets are now also deployed against jet UAVs, with the programme expanding and longer-range systems under development. Khmara added that aviation remains one of the most effective means against jet drones, with fewer munitions needed per target thanks to improved pilot skill and coordination. He also proposed that hunting UAV crews and ground infrastructure should become a separate specialisation, handled by dedicated second-echelon units.
