Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets announced that the Office of the Prosecutor General has opened proceedings on the possible abuse of authority by a member of a notification group during mobilization activities in Lviv. The case relates to video footage showing men in military uniform using physical force against civilians and one individual apparently drawing a weapon.
Quote: "This is not how mobilization should look… On the video, people in military uniforms, likely representatives of the TCC and SP, apply force to civilians. One person is forcibly put in a car. At some point, one of the notification group members apparently intends to use a service weapon," Lubinets said.
The investigation is being conducted by the territorial department of Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigations in Lviv on charges of possible abuse of power accompanied by the use of a weapon (Article 365, Part 2 of Ukraine's Criminal Code).
