Zelensky: Ukraine Supports Energy Ceasefire, Awaiting Details from the US

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine supports the idea of an energy ceasefire but is awaiting concrete details from Washington on how it would be implemented and verified.

The energy ceasefire concept envisions a temporary halt to strikes on energy infrastructure on both sides, allowing civilian populations to receive power during winter months.

Zelensky emphasized that while Ukraine is open to the proposal, the Russian side has continued to attack Ukrainian energy facilities, most recently striking the TEC-5 thermal power plant in Kharkiv. He said Ukraine needs guarantees and monitoring mechanisms before any such agreement could take effect.
