Kyiv Green Metro Line Still Partly Closed After Russian Strike

1 min read

Trains on Kyiv's green metro line are still not running between the Slavutych and Chervony Khutir stations after the Russian strike in the early hours of October 27. The green line operates on the Syrets-Vydubychi section, the Kyiv Metro said on social media.

"Overnight, during the shelling of the capital, metro infrastructure on the Southern Bridge was damaged. Specialists from the relevant services of the enterprise are working at the site," the metro operator said.

Service across the network

During the evening rush hour, trains on the Syrets-Vydubychi section will run at intervals of four and a half minutes. The metro promised to announce the restoration of service along the whole green line separately. On the red line, trains run between Akademmistechko and Lisova, and all stations are open for entry. During an air-raid alert, traffic on the above-ground section will be suspended. The blue line operates as usual. All underground stations will serve as shelters during air-raid alerts.

The overnight attack

After the missile attack on the night of October 27, a large crater formed on the Southern Bridge in Kyiv, and traffic on the bridge is currently closed. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko had earlier published several photos showing the aftermath of the missile strike on the bridge. Overnight, Russian forces attacked with Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, 280 Shahed-type strike drones, 69 of them jet-powered, Gerbera and Parodiya decoy drones. The main blow fell on Kyiv.
